Northcutt’s Greenlawn Nursery began in 1956 near Noble, Oklahoma. Don Northcutt had just completed his Master’s in Science degree with majors in Turf Management and Animal Husbandry. In 1960, the Northcutt’s purchased Norman Garden Center using it to market turf products. Following intensive research of soil types, quality and water availability, in 1962, 160 acres was purchased near Lexington, OK. The first sales from this location were recorded in 1963. Tree production began in 1964, with the first of the plot being sold in 1968. Within 8 years, the acreage had increased to 926 and the property is currently 1067 acres. In 1978, the wholesale tree division began introducing large specimen trees and shrubs in the marketplace. We currently sell and ship products all over the continental United States.
