The Xerces Society

pollinator conservation.
The Xerces Society is a leader in pollinator conservation, providing plant lists, habitat evaluation, establishment guidelines, and resources on the availability of plants for pollinators and other insects beneficial to agriculture (especially native plants and flowering cover crops). If you grow milkweed, we would love to add your nursery to our milkweed seed finder. Habitat restoration using native plants supports bees, butterflies, birds, and a great diversity of other wildlife, including predators and parasitoids of crop and other garden plant pests. Diverse native hedgerows can also provide added income in fruit, nut, or floral production while helping to protect the health of our watersheds and supporting agricultural production and garden health. Plantings to support pollinators and other wildlife include herbaceous plants, shrubs, and trees that flower through the growing season. Xerces works closely with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service to promote pollinator conservation and raise awareness of the importance of native bees and other insects on farms. Thank you for all you do to support pollinators!
