For over 70 years, the CORRY’S brand has been a trusted name in the pest control industry. Made in the Pacific Northwest -- where we know a thing or two about slugs and snails --  our products have provided excellent protection against slugs, snails, and other garden invaders for generations. We believe everyone deserves a healthy, beautiful garden, and we’re proud to help our customers achieve that goal.

Slugs and snails are two of the most destructive garden pests. Although their outward appearance is quite different, the main difference is that slugs lack an external shell.

Slugs and snails feed at night and prefer moist, warm conditions, which is why these pests are a particular problem on the West Coast. They rarely venture from their hiding places during cold weather or exceedingly hot spells.

Slugs and snails hatch from eggs, laid in clusters, under debris, stones, compost heaps or beneath the surface of the soil. Generally, they hatch out after 20 to 30 days of favorable weather conditions. They will then continue to grow slowly, eating vegetation. While these small slugs and snails are growing and eating, they migrate towards better feeding and sheltering conditions. It is because of this migrating habit that it is impossible to completely eliminate the slug and snail problem.

With the use of CORRY’S® Slug & Snail Killer and a consistent baiting program, these pests can be reduced to a more manageable level.

    INSECT FACTS

    Grasshoppers
They lay eggs in the soil, which can lead to plant damage. Tilling the soil will destroy some of the eggs, but CORRY’S® Insect Killer can help finish the job.

    Beetles
These familiar bugs can “skeletonize” leaves, eating away all the green except for the veins.

    Earwigs
Their pinchers may look scary, but they don’t hurt humans at all. What is scary is how much damage they can do to plants and gardens when feeding.

    Sowbugs
Although they can help overturn soil, they also feed on seedlings or young fruit when given the chance.

    Ants
A colony can contain up to 200,000 ants!

    Cutworms
These moth larvae rely on weeds and compost to lay eggs. Keeping such “fertilizer” to a minimum will help prevent this pest from making your property their home.

And don’t forget- all the above pests and more can be controlled with the use of CORRY’S® products.

    • How early can you begin treating in order to prevent and control damage caused by slugs & snails?
Slugs and snails are typically active sooner than people think. Consequently, this gives them a head-start before people begin gardening. In order to guard against this, it is a good idea to begin preventative treatments on your desired areas towards the end of winter.
    • How long does the CORRY'S® Copper Tape Barrier last?
CORRY'S® Copper Tape Barrier lasts approximately 6 months. While rain won't affect the copper tape barrier, dirt and debris will reduce its effectiveness. In order to get the best results, we recommend cleaning the barrier off with a washcloth or vinegar occasionally.
    • What can I do to prevent slug and snail problems in my garden?
A good prevention program includes a combination of methods. First, eliminate all places that slugs and snails can hide during the day such as: boards, stones, tree trunks, etc. Next, plant vegetable gardens away from such hiding places. Begonias, California poppy, fuchias, geraniums and other plants with stiff leaves as well as highly scented foliage (lavender, rosemary, sage) resist slug and snail damage. Use a drip irrigation to reduce humidity and moist surfaces – both of which attract slugs and snails. Use CORRY'S® Slug & Snail Copper Tape Barrier to keep slugs and snails out of a particular area or to protect tree trunks and flower pots. CORRY'S®Slug & Snail Copper Tape Barrier gives snails and slugs a slight electrical shock when passing over the copper tape. To further control the snails and slugs, spread CORRY'S® Slug & Snail Killer ready-to-use pellets in your garden.
    • How do I identify if my garden has slugs and snails in it?
Slugs and snails feed on a variety of vegetables and herbs destroying seedlings and chewing holes in vegetables and plants, leaving them unattractive all season. Any tender plant or shrub can be affected by slugs and snails.
    • What time of year should I focus most on protecting my garden from slugs & snails?
Snails hibernate in the winter; whereas, slugs remain active year round, excluding extreme hot or cold weather. Apply slug baits in the spring or fall when slugs are most active, and snail bait in the spring when snails are most active.
    • Do control products harm the plant?
Control products are designed to protect plants and do not cause harm to the treated area. The best way to further ensure no harm to the host plants is to precisely follow the product's label use directions.
    • What's the best way to protect my garden?
The best way to protect your garden is to begin preventative treatments on your desired areas in the early spring or fall right before the most active slug and snail seasons. Use CORRY'S® Slug & Snail Copper Tape Barrier to protect tree trunks, flower pots and particular areas that you are trying to preserve. Copper barriers are useful in protecting susceptible plants such as basil, cabbage, hosta, lettuces, marigolds, strawberries and other seedlings and succulent plants. For maximum protection, also spread CORRY'S® Slug & Snail Killer ready-to-use pellets in your garden. CORRY'S® Brand controls these pests and remains effective even after rain or sprinkling.
    • Can I use insecticides on snails and slugs?
Since snails and slugs are not insects, they should not be controlled with insecticides, but rather with molluscicides. It is recommended that baits are used in late afternoon or evening since snails and slugs are nocturnal. Additionally, it is a good idea to promote activity by irrigating before applying a snail and slug bait.
    • Does CORRY'S® brand offer other products beyond slug and snail killers?
Yes, CORRY'S® brand has been protecting plants for more than 70 years. In addition to CORRY'S® Slug & Snail Killer and Slug & Snail Copper Tape Barrier, CORRY'S®brand also offers CORRY'S® Insect Killer, Deadline® Bug Bait, Deadline® Force II™ Slug & Snail Killer and Moss B Ware® products.
