Lela Kelly, horticulture expert at Dosatron International.
Lela Kelly is former owner of Dosatron International. Lela is Dosatron International’s lead horticulture expert, with over 35 years experience in the horticulture market. Prior to joining Dosatron in the early 90’s, Lela spent over 20 years in the horticulture field, first as co-owner of a greenhouse and garden center operation in Long Island, NY, and then as a salesperson and distributor of horticulture supplies in the New York-tri-state area.
A longtime member of the horticulture community, Lela is a member of several professional horticulture organizations, including OFA , an organization of horticulture professionals, the Society of American Florists (SAF), and the Florida Nurserymen Grower Associations (FNGA). Lela has also served on various horticulture industry boards, including FIRST, Long Island Nurserymen’s Association, and OFA. Lela has also served for 8 years on the Advisory Committee to the Ellison Endowed Chair in Floriculture and Greenhouse Crops at Texas A&M University.
Lela is a graduate of the Owner President Manager Program at Harvard School of Business, as well as Dale Carnegie Sales Training. In addition to her work giving back to the horticulture community, Lela is committed to service within the Tampa Bay community; she is involved with the Sargent Allen Moore Shelter for Battered Women, the Tampa Bay Research Institute, and the U PARC Hire the Handicapped program. Lela has donated a vertical vegetable garden at HEP, Homeless Emergency Project in Clearwater, Florida. They are currently producing organic produce for their kitchens, and have recently instituted a mobile produce truck for underserved communities. Lela lives in Belleair, Florida, along with her whole family.
