Kraft Gardens

Since 1947
Kraft Gardens consists of two 40-acre locations (30 acres under cover, 10 acres of stock field) with state-of-the-art shade houses. These are ideal growing facilities for some of the world’s best foliage plants. Only the finest ingredients are used in Kraft’s plant production, including liquid feed and the exclusive use of Canadian peat. The plants are grown in highly durable injection-mold pots. With a clean water supply and a drip fertigation system, every plant is fed and watered individually and precisely. With no overhead watering the plants have clean leaves and are ready for use upon arrival, with no extra labor needed for plant prep. The Cravo shade houses have retractable roofs and sidewalls that provide optimum airflow, and at the same time protect the plant material from extreme weather conditions. Sensors monitor light levels in the houses and adjust the shade cloth accordingly, providing perfect light year-round. To increase efficiency, the facility has moving bench systems in the greenhouse and load-level shipping docks in the packing house. Kraft’s growers incorporate experience, technology, and quality management to provide perfect plants for industry professionals and houseplant consumers.

Kraft Gardens is known for introducing new products into the market place. Some of these past achievements include the introductions of interior Crotons and Arboricola. They are also responsible for introducing Schefflera Amate and Schefflera Renegade (both of which they still offer today), and have made Rhapis Excelsa an affordable product for the interior landscape. Kraft is also a leading producer of Ficus Monique, Midnight, and Amstel King, and their King Maya palm has become one of the best indoor palms available. The Bay Collection, the next phase in Aglaonema evolution is now being offered from Kraft Gardens, including Emerald Bay, Golden Bay, Diamond Bay, and Moonlight Bay. Most recently, Kraft has introduced their Global Concepts Dracaena program, which is setting the new standard in Dracaena. Kraft also incorporates five doctors of Plant Physiology, Environmental Toxicology and Horticulture from the University of Florida, IFAS and the USDA on our Research & Development Team.
