Sterling Arbor
Legacy Trees -- Max Tree Farm.
Founded in 1988 by Jim Paul and based in Scandia, Minnesota, Sterling Arbor sources trees from select nurseries throughout the country, selected to meet landscape architect project specifications. In addition to transplanting trees with large tree spades, the company grows trees in boxes and manufactures large plaza planters. Sterling Arbor has become known for legacy tree planting projects including the Lakewood Cemetery Mausoleum, the Cargill Corporate Campus, Allianz Life, the University of Minnesota Scholar’s Walk, and many private commercial and residential properties.
Based in Tomball, Texas, Environmental Design Inc. is the global leader in the large tree transplanting industry and has developed means and methods and patented transplanting methods and equipment. The privately held company has led the drive to apply technology to tree transplanting, including designing the world’s largest on-site hydraulic tree spade and the world’s largest highway-legal tree spade, as well as transplanting the largest tree ever successfully moved. Recent projects include the 9/11 Memorial in New York and the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA.
