Our Story
The Spear Head Spade® garden shovel was designed by 85-year old Daniel Mathieu. With 2 artificial knees and 2 artificial hips, he found it increasingly difficult to dig and cultivate his garden. In fact, it was so painful he thought he would have to give up his favorite hobby. Fortunately, he's been an inventor throughout his life. Daniel decided to develop a new type of shovel that would more easily penetrate his tough New England soil. Now, he and everyone else can enjoy beautifying their yards and tending their gardens with the Spear Head Spade® garden shovel. Happy Gardening!
