Consumers Willing to Pay More For Environmentally Friendly Flowers, Study Finds

Sakata Seed America appoints new head grower
By: Lawn & Garden Retailer magazine -- Sakata Seed America has appointed Noe Barajas as head grower and trial manager at its Salinas, California, research station. Barajas brings over 30 years of growing experience and knowledge of crop management and product development, including key positions with Yoder Brothers, Color Spot Nursery and, most recently, Ernst Benary of America. His new responsibilities include managing all growing activity of ornamental flowers in support of Sakata sales and marketing, research and development, and production departments.


Dramm introduces 2 new watering tools

AmericanHort Meets with DOL & USDA
By: Jennifer Zurko. GrowerTalks magazine -- n May, AmericanHort CEO and President Ken Fisher participated in a roundtable discussion with USDA Secretary Thomas J. Vilsack and DOL Acting Secretary Julie A. Su on the recently released H-2A Farmworker Protection Final Rule. The final rule went into effect on June 28, 2024, with a further delayed implementation date of August 29, 2024, to allow the Department of Labor (DOL) to update the Foreign Labor Application Gateway (FLAG) system and forms.
