Alaska Peat Inc. is an independently owned and operated company that brings over 30 years of experience in the peat industry to our customers. Founded in 2001 by Arnold Stang in Edmonton, Alberta at our present location. Our peat resources are located about 100 kms NW of Edmonton.

Arnie was the founder and operator of Lakeland Peat Moss from 1985 to 1998. He sold Lakeland in 1998 and entered into retirement. But the lure of the peat bogs were too strong and he returned to start Alaska Peat in 2002. He returned to familiar territory and offered Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss and his personal service in the Western United States and Canada. Customer service and employee engagement were Arnie's top priorities when he founded Alaska Peat.
