Q. Where can I find your products?
A. First, please try our Dealer Locator, but since we sell primarily to distributors, this system does not give us access to who all the dealers are in a particular area or what products they carry. Bonide Products can typically be found at premier independent garden centers, nurseries, and greenhouses as well as hardware stores and coops.
Q. Definitions:
• Herbicide - a chemical or other substance used to control undesirable plants.
• Insecticide - a chemical or other substance used to control undesirable insects.
• Fungicide - a chemical or other substance used to control undesirable plant diseases and fungi.
• Rodenticide – a chemical or other substance used to control rodents.
Q. I have misplaced the directions for use booklet for the product? Can you tell me how much to use?
A. You can obtain a copy of the label directions on our website. Please click here to follow the link to the label section. Make sure you have the correct and complete name of the product. If you still can not find the correct label, please email your request to Our Customer Service Department and we will email you a copy. If you provide your address, we can also mail you a copy.
Q. I was told that your product could be used for a plant/flower/vegetable/fruit, etc. that is not listed on the label. Can I still use it?
A. We do not recommend using any of our products for anything that is not listed on our label.
Q. How can I find out which product I need to solve my problem?
A. Our Problem Solver section lists some specific insects and diseases along with suggested products to use. Our Bug and Weed charts may also help you choose the correct Bonide Product. If you do not see your specific problem or would like more information, please feel free to contact Our Customer Service Department or call us at 1-315-736-8231.
Q. What is the shelf life of your product?
A. As a general rule, liquid products containing bacterial type material have a life of 3 to 5 years. Other liquid products have a shelf life of 7 to 10 years. All dry products have an indefinite shelf life. All products should be stored in a dry area and not subjected to extreme hot or cold temperatures.

It was 1926 when James H. Wurz of North Utica, NY decided to go to work for himself. Jim quit his job as a traveling salesman and along with his brother George they started what we know today as BONIDE Products Inc. In those days the Wurz brothers traveled the dirt roads of America in their Model-T, selling 5-gallon pails of dairy & cattle sprays to farmers and feed stores. The brothers would collect sales orders all summer until the roads washed out. Through the winter months they produced their merchandise and come spring they shipped their orders before setting out again for the summer selling season.
It’s over 80 years later and not much has changed. Sure, the company is much larger and today we operate out of a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, travel via jet planes and communicate via cell phones and e-mail, but the basic premise is the same. We are still a family owned and operated business who cares about our environment, customers, employees and suppliers. The current third generation of ownership has the same respect and gratitude for the second generation as the second had for the first. Bonide is not just our business. It is our heritage and our passion.
The industry has seen enormous change and consolidation of the years. Regulatory and market pressures make this a tough business to be in. We feel that our sense of history helps guide us through these challenges. We don’t measure our success just by quarterly results, we measure it by decades.
